Donor Advised Fund

The Donor Advised Fund offers a choice of investment options when making your contributions. Your contribution can be allocated among any combination of investment pools, each with different objectives.

You advise how contributions to the Tompkins Charitable Gift Fund are invested to provide the potential for the assets to grow, which may ultimately result in additional dollars for charitable grants.

Our Donor Advised Fund offers four pools for donors to choose a one-step implementation of a giving plan with a blend of mutual funds approach.  The four approaches to match your charitable giving objectives are:

  • Growth Pool for donors who look for the potential of a significant capital    appreciation and for aggressive attributes.

  • Growth with Income Pool invests primarily for long-term capital appreciation but maintains a combination of value attributes to enhance portfolio diversification. It may have less volatility than the Growth Pool over the long term.

  • Gift Preservation Pool invests primarily in fixed income funds to emphasize preservation and less volatility.

  • Socially Responsible Pool maximizes both financial return and social good. In general, it favors corporate practices which are environmentally responsible and some (not all) avoidance of businesses involved in alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons and other military industries, and/or abortion.
